study is a demand from the prefecture of Awala
Yalimapo (northern west of Guyane). It's about thinking the Kali'na (amerindians) architecture with the power of the tradition and the contemporary comfort. November 2003 : begining of the study January 2004 : immersion in the village A traditional housing is composed of different "carbets" (huge vegetal roof on posts) on a vast terrain. The carbet offers a great shadow that defines the interior space and gives a natural cooling. |
